‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ season four premieres tonight

Star Wars: The Clone Wars begins its fourth season tonight starting with two half-hour episodes set underwater on the planet Mon Calamari. The episodes, titled “Water War” and Gungan Attack,” begin a three part story in which the Jedi find an ally in their attempt to drive out the Separatists.

This season, expect some intense battle scenes and great new characters such as Riff, a shark with a big personality — and General Krell, who series director Dave Filoni compares to World War II’s General Patton. Krell sports 4 arms (no less than our favorite cyborg General Grevious), which means the newly introduced Jedi can wield more than just one light saber at a time.

Returning characters in season four (called “Battle Lines”) include Bo Katan, Kit Fisto, Cad Bane, Assajj Ventress, the Nightsisters, and Savage Opress. Classic characters returning to the animated series include R2-D2, C3PO, Bossk, and Boba Fett.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 4 will premiere tonight at 8:00pm Eastern/7pm Central on the Cartoon Network. The season will consist of a total of 22 half-hour episodes.
