Amazon to launch Android app store

Amazon will launch its own app store to support Android-based devices, a source told Wired.com. Close to almost 50 apps will be available via an Amazon webpage (presumably http://www.amazon.com/apps) as well as downloadable through a native Amazon app.

The Hobbit production starts

It'll be a long, long time before the first Peter Jackson 'Hobbit' film hits theaters - so long you can almost feel your life passing by waiting. But according to E! Online production has started on the scheduled two-part epic which is set to release in late 2012 - approximately a year and half away.

Time Warner ‘Matt Damon’ category gets limited run On Demand

The man who doesn't seem to pick a bad script, Matt Damon, has his own video-on-demand category within the Time Warner Cable library. The dedicated category will run until April 11 and features the Oct. 2010 release Hereafter, starring Damon along with Belgian-born actress Cécile De France.
