Verizon has launched high-definition channel TruTV HD to their FiOS TV lineup, which now totals up to 145 HD channels. The network will air a percentage the 2011 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship games in high-definition, along with CBS, TBS, and TNT. Verizon boasts full coverage of the NCAA Championship with the combination of those four networks.
TruTV (formerly known as Court TV), is owned by Turner Broadcasting and broadcasts what truTV calls “actuality” television — coverage of criminal justice trials and reality programs.
TruTV HD already launched in Texas, Florida, California, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, downstate New York and the Philadelphia area. Verizon says the channel will launch for the rest of the markets before the end of Mar. 16.
“Basketball fans can get their fill of high-def games during the next month on FiOS TV. Plus, our customers can enjoy all of the other great programming offered by truTV in HD, SD and online with FiOS TV Online.”
TruTV can be found on Channels 683 (1080i HD) and 183 (SD).
