The first Blue Crush wasn’t enough! From Universal Pictures comes Blue Crush 2 straight to disc and digital download. Blue Crush 2 stars Elizabeth Mathis (TRON: Legacy), Sharni Vinson (Step Up 3D), and Sasha Jackson (‘Til Death) in the sequel to the first Blue Crush released in 2002, also from Universal Pictures.
Blue Crush 2 was shot entirely in South Africa and there’s plenty of footage of professional surfers making appearances. Extras on the Blu-ray Disc and DVD include deleted scenes, gag reel, a behind-the-scenes documentary, commentaries and additional featurettes.
The Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy edition also includes BD-Live, My Scenes, and pocket BLU. Blue Crush 2 will release on June 7, 2011.
This movie was better than expected for a straight to home video release and considering they didn’t bring back any of the stars from the original…still, I really liked it, and I think Sasha Jackson was especially good as Dana.
Also, great music in this one, hope they release an official soundtrack…really dug how they incorporated music into the beach bond fire scene (watch at http://vimeo.com/27919300 ) – The Dirty Heads were the perfect band to use for that surfer/beach party vibe, and “Stand Tall” is one of my favorite of their tunes.
