Sony Pictures holds the top three selling Blu-ray Discs right now, beginning with Takers (2010) in the number one position. The Social Network (2010) and Salt (2010) hold the second and third positions respectively, according to Home Media Magazine/Nielsen VideoScan.
There’s only one TV show in the top 10 right now (or even in the top 20) and that’s Justified: The Complete First Season also from Sony Pictures. All in all, Sony controls almost half of the best selling BDs right now. Fittingly so given the company owns both the content, media and distribution.
Total Blu-ray Disc revenue was up 27% from the same week last year at $27 million.
