Movies from VUDU are now available on the PlayStation Network, and, by activating your account you’ll get a movie rental in HD for free. VUDU offers movies streaming day-and-date with DVD/Blu-ray Disc releases, with a library of movies available for $2 for two nights.
VUDU’s library includes over 4,000 movies in HD (720p) and HDX (1080p) resolution, as well as Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround sound.
To set up VUDU you just have to download the free VUDU movie app at the PlayStation Store from the “Media” menu. Then activate your account from the VUDU app under the “Video” menu in the XrossMediaBar. (You might you might be asked to install the 1.01 software update, which adds support for 3D video content at 720p, and USB and Blu-tooth keyboards.)
You just have to enter your email address and you’ll get a movie credit for $5.99. Movie categories include “Top New Titles,” “New to Rent,” and “Coming Soon.”
The minimum speed requirements for SD (420p) is 1 Mbps, HD (720p) is 2.25 Mbps, and HDX (1080p) is 4.5 Mbps. You can check your internet speed at SpeedTest.net.
i can just wait for mail. didnt see them in theaters so no rush to see at home. movies i really wanna see i go to theater. – D
