Time Warner Cable will keep broadcasting 28 local stations from Sinclair Broadcasting, after an agreement between the two companies. TWC made the announcement in a press release today, a day after the Jan. 14 extension. (In November, 2010, Sinclair said they would pull 33 of their station in 21 cities if an agreement wasn’t made by Jan. 1, 2011.)
“We’re pleased to reach an agreement with Sinclair Broadcasting without any interruption in service for our customers,” said Rob Marcus, President and Chief Operating Officer of Time Warner Cable. “We appreciate our customers’ patience and support throughout this negotiation, and thank them for their patronage.”
Sinclair Broadcasting operates 57 stations across the U.S. in about 35 markets based mainly in the South and Midwest states.
