Six-time Oscar nominated film ‘Ray’ is headed for Blu-ray Disc and DVD on Feb. 1, 2011. Six-time Oscar nominee ‘Ray’ is headed for Blu-ray Disc release on Feb. 1, 2011. The film from 2004 stars Jamie Foxx (who won an Oscar for his role) and tells the story of Ray Charles, from his origins in a poor community in the South to his climb as a musical legend.

‘Ray’ co-stars Kerry Washington (For Colored Girls, Mr. & Mrs. Smith), Regina King (Enemy of the State, Jerry Maguire), Aunjanue Ellis (The Taking of Pelham 123, Men of Honor), and Terrence Howard (“Law and Order: Los Angeles,” Iron Man).

The Blu-ray Disc features BD-Live, My Scenes, uHear, U-Control, Picture in Picture: Scene Companion, and pocket BLU (offering Advanced Remote Control, Video Timeline, Mobile-To-Go, and browsing of Blu-ray titles and unlockable content).

Bonus content includes “The Music of Ray” (allowing you to create a personal playlist of favorite songs with the ability to download from iTunes), commentaries and introduction by writer/director Taylor Hackford, Extended Musical Scenes (9 uncut performances included), featurettes, and deleted scenes.

Technical aspects of the Blu-ray Disc include 1080p video formatting on a BD-50 at 1.85:1 widescreen aspect ratio. Audio is provided in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1.
