Normally you would walk into Borders, check out the Blu-ray collection, and walk out wondering why they were all priced at the manufacturer’s suggested price. But recently Borders has had some great deals on Blu-ray Discs, with a several titles priced lower than big retailers like Target and Amazon.com. I spoke with the store manager in a Southern California-based Borders who said there was no specific sale going on, but that many of the store locations may get large Blu-ray shipments which they can offer at red-tag discounts. The manager also said the discounted Blu-ray shelf will be randomly rotated from whatever they have in stock.
Well it’s about time. Paying upwards of $30 or $40 for a Blu-ray title just seems so 2006. This particular Borders had several titles at $12.99 including Gattaca, Resident Evil, Superbad, Hancock and The Patriot. A few other titles were priced at $13.99 such as Die Hard and Cocoon. And, other Blu-ray Discs were reasonably priced at $14.99 like Hellboy, Edward Scissorhands, and Live Free or Die Hard.
These prices are not guaranteed at the Borders nearest you, but their Blu-ray specials are certainly worth checking out.
