Paramount has announced it will release all the “Next Generation” films on Blu-ray Disc this coming September. Finally, we get Next Gen in hi-def. The 5-disc collection will include: “Star Trek VII: Generations,” “Star Trek VIII: First Contact,” “Star Trek IX: Insurrection” and “Star Trek X: Nemesis.”
Blu-ray Disc resolution will of course be 1080p with 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio. All five discs will include deleted scenes (BD exclusive), storyboards (BD exclusive), commentaries, as well as plenty of other goodies.
‘Star Trek: The Next Generation Motion Picture Collection” is scheduled to hit the streets September 22. No retail price has been announced, nor are any pre-orders being taken yet. We’ll keep you posted on the latest.
