AT&T has expanded its U-verse service to several areas this week. Among the new service areas are parts of Jackson, MI, El Paso, TX, and Topeka, KS. The U-verse TV service typically offers 85 HD channels at an extra $10 a month and provides an all-in-one television/internet/voice package over its fiber-optic based network.
In Jackson, the service is now available to 230 communities including Ann Arbor, Detroit, Flint, Kalamazoo, Lansing and Saginaw. The service will compete against cable television provider Comcast.
In El Paso, AT&T will compete against cable provider Time Warner Cable. In Topeka, the company’s cable competition comes from Cox Communications.
UPDATE: AT&T has also expanded U-verse to parts of Salinas and Monterey CA.
