News from a Dow Jones Newswire yesterday quoted Comcast’s Chief Financial Officer Michael Angelakis as saying that HD competitor DirecTV, a satellite provider, has done a “better job” of marketing its HD offerings. He added, “not every HD channel deserves to be in HD, and there are lots of HD channels that aren’t watched very much.”
The article also said that Comcast is moving to add as much VOD content as possible.
The company currently has a VOD library on its Channel 1 of over 200 HD shows and movies, some of them free-of-charge. Comcast also boasts having over 1,000 HD shows and movies available to viewers.
