Starting today, DIRECTV is now offering local HD(high-definition) programming to customers in the Omaha, Nebraska market area. The following broadcast networks are now available in HD: KETV/ABC, KMTV/CBS, KPTM/FOX, WOWT/NBC and KXVO/CW. DIRECTV now offers local HD broadcast channels in 77 U.S. cities, which represents approximately 76 percent of households.
DIRECTV is currently expanding it’s HD programming nationwide to include 92 HD channels. Their recently released fourth quarter 2007 earnings revealed that HD service, along with international growth, contributed to a 17% increase.
