Atari’s Xbox 360 and PC versions of “Alone in the Dark” are still on schedule to arrive in stores before March 2008, but the PS3 version will follow at a later date. According to Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net), Atari announced that the latest installment of the “Alone in the Dark” series will not be released on all platforms simultaneously.
Atari did not give a reason for the delay, but assured that AitD “is still very much in development for Sony’s machine.”
“Alone in the Dark” is a next-gen survival/horror title, and called “one of the most impressive behind-closed-doors demos at E3 2006” by Eurogamer. The high suspense/high definition game from Atari puts you in the role of private detective Edward Carnby. The game is set in Central Park, New York, and broken into 30 or 40 minute “episodes”.
This release is a long time coming, as the 360 version was originally announced in 2005 and the PS3 version a year later.
