“No one’s ever really gone.”
Early today, Disney premiered the first teaser for Star Wars: Episode IX “The Rise of Skywalker” and at one-minute, forty-five seconds the video almost a full-length trailer.
In the teaser, uploaded to the Star Wars channel on YouTube, we see images of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) among other returning actors from the previous two episodes.
We also get a glimpse of vintage Star Wars actors Billy Dee Williams returning as Lando Calrissian, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, and Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa (sourced from archive footage). And, Mark Hamill provides the voiceover as Luke Skywalker.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker releases to theaters in the US on Dec. 20, 2019.
