The ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 Official Trailer Is Finally Here

It’s “new release Tuesday” and for us that usually means new Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray discs hitting stores. But today there’s another release that overshadows just about everything in our entertainment world and that’s the official Game of Thrones Season 8 trailer.

Premiering just about 5 weeks from now on April 14th, the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones will probably be the most anticipated TV event of the year. The final season is only made up of six episodes (one episode shorter than Season 7), but those episodes are expected to be quite long, and even almost feature length if rumors are correct.

“I know death. He’s got many faces.” – Arya Stark

Most of the main characters appear in this trailer including Tyrion, Cersei, Daenerys, Jon, Sansa, Jaime, Jorah and Bran among others. Arya, in particular, gets a full 20 seconds in the beginning of the video. And Cersei, captured smirking at 1:10, gives us the message she will get her way at some point in Season 8.

In the first trailer there is plenty to dissect, predict and take away after watching it several times. But one thing is clear. There will be a war with the undead and the remaining two dragons will be part of it. What the video doesn’t show is whether or not Viserion, killed by a lance in S7/E6, returns as a wight dragon to face them.
