HBO is currently offering a free viewing of the first season of Game of Thrones. The season, of course, begins with Episode 1 titled “Winter Is Coming” which started it all for the blockbuster TV franchise.
The first season can be watched with most TV service providers like DirecTV and Verizon, as well as online at HBO.com and through the HBO Now app for smart TVs, media players, and platforms such as Apple TV and Roku. [Update: While some apps allow you to bypass the sign-up/log-in window to browse titles and find GOT S1, some apps to do not. Fire TV does not allow the free viewing.]
The free preview comes just ahead of the premiere of the short, but highly-anticipated premiere of Season 8 on Sunday, April 14, 2019.
