List of the 2019 Oscar Nominations

"Roma" Netflix Original Still by HD ReportThe 2019 Oscar Nominations are in and there aren’t too many surprises in the list of potential winners. There are, however, several movies that either snuck in at the end of 2018 or had limited theater releases. So, if you haven’t seen them you are not alone.

One of those movies is Vice that premiered in the US on Dec. 25, 2018. The film has been nominated for eight Oscars including Best Picture of the Year. Vice was written and directed by Adam McKay and stars Christian Bale as former VP Dick Cheney.

Amazon Studios’ Cold War directed by Pawel Pawlikowski has been nominated for three Oscars including Best Achievement in Directing, Best Achievement in Cinematography, and Best Foreign Language Film. The movie had a limited release in the US on Dec. 23.

Netflix’s Roma had a limited release in the US in November and has been nominated for ten Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director (Alfonso Cuarón), and Best Actress (Yalitza Aparicio) among others.

Another movie nominated you may not have heard of is At Eternity’s Gate starring Willem Dafoe who has been nominated for Best Actor. The film had a limited theatrical release in the US on Nov. 18.

The 91st Oscars airs live on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 8:00 PM Eastern/5:00 PM Pacific on ABC.
