Looks like Sony is squeezing in the home media release of Venom before the holidays and the end of the year. The Blu-ray, 4k Blu-ray, and DVD editions of Venom will hit stores on Dec. 18, following the digital release of the film likely on Dec. 4. Pre-orders of the Blu-ray edition are selling for $22.96 (MSRP: $39.99) and the 4k Blu-ray $29.99 (MSRP: $45.99) on Amazon.
Venom on Blu-ray is presented in 1080p with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack. The Ultra HD Blu-ray edition increases resolution to 2160p with HDR (Dolby Vision) and a Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1 soundtrack.
Best Buy, Target and Walmart all have exclusive Blu-ray editions of the film planned. Best Buy has their traditional 4k Blu-ray SteelBook edition ($34.99), Target includes a hardcover gallery book with their exclusive Blu-ray edition ($24.99), and Walmart is taking pre-orders on a their own Blu-ray edition with action figure included ($27.96), although we have no idea what that figure will look like.
