It’s been a long time waiting for these two titles in 4k, but Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has finally confirmed The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron will be coming to Ultra HD Blu-ray in the US on August 14, 2018.
The Ultra HD Blu-ray combos will include a 4k Blu-ray (2160p) and Blu-ray (1080p) along with a Digital Copy. Both Cinematic Universe Editions are priced $29.99.
What’s more, Best Buy has already listed two exclusive SteelBook editions priced $34.99 each (pictured below).
The release of The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron to Ultra HD Blu-ray present both films for home viewing in 2160p with HDR for the first time.
As well as 4k resolution each movies’ soundtrack has been upgraded to Dolby Atmos, a major improvement for The Avengers which was originally mixed in Dolby Surround 7.1. ’Age of Ultron’ was mixed in Dolby Atmos for theaters but previously only available in DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1.
Both editions will likely include all the bonus material previously released on Blu-ray, as well as a digital movie through Disney’s Movies Anywhere that we’re hoping will be Digital 4k UHD where available.
