James Cameron’s classic sci-fi film Aliens (1986) is only $4.99 today at iTunes. The deal follows the special offered yesterday for Alien (1979) also only $4.99 in Digital HD. Who knows? The purchase of Aliens from iTunes includes both the 1986 theatrical version and 1990 Special Edition of the film, as well as over four hours of extras with director commentary, deleted scenes, 5.1 isolated score, making-of documentary and more. In effect, you’re getting two digital movies for $5 bucks.
To compare, both Amazon and Vudu sell Aliens for $13.99 (HD, HDX), while Google Play has it priced $14.99 (HD).
The iTunes Digital HD version of Aliens can be streamed in either 720p or 1080p resolution. Users can also download the 1080p / 6.28GB version (recommended for larger screens) or the 480p 2.31 GB version for smaller screen devices.
Although this is a special price from 20th Century Fox and Apple, you don’t have to be an Apple user to take advantage. As we mentioned before, iTunes is supported on both Windows PCs just as well as on Apple OSX and iOS devices.
