Marvel Studio’s Black Panther just hit theaters this past weekend but already Best Buy has got pre-orders up for Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray exclusive SteelBook editions of the film. With no confirmed release date to home media yet [Update: Release date is May 15, 2019], the company is selling Black Panther on 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray for $35 and Black Panther on Blu-ray for $29.99.
Both the back and front of the limited edition SteelBook case features Black Panther (aka “T’Challa”) painted with a monochromatic watercolor effect, while the inside is a picturesque photographic landscape of the kingdom of Wakanda enhanced with characters related to Black Panther.
The Only @ Best Buy 2-disc editions of Black Panther include either a Blu-ray Disc (with the 4k Blu-ray edition) or DVD (with Blu-ray), as well as a digital copy redeemable with multiple services such as Movies Anywhere, UltraViolet and iTunes.
Target also has their own exclusive DigiBook Blu-ray edition with a 43-page Filmmaker Behind-The-Scenes Gallery Book. That edition is selling for $24.99. And, Walmart is selling an exclusive Blu-ray edition for $24.96. See the Black Panther exclusive retailer editions detailed.
Black Panther earned just over $200M on its opening 3-day weekend in the US. Internationally, the film made almost $185M, bringing the total earning to almost $437M at the worldwide box office.
