The Starz! Original Series American Gods will get its first release to disc formats on Oct. 17, 2017. The 8-episode season will be available on both Blu-ray Disc and DVD, each edition with 3 discs from Lionsgate Films. The season will also release to a Region-B locked German Import Limited Edition Steelbook as well as Collector’s Edition, but those editions will not play on most Blu-ray players in the US.
The season in total runs 448 minutes, with each episode lasting about 60 minutes. There are also plenty of bonus features on this release, such as “The Road to American Gods Documentary,” 6 featurettes, “God Squad Video Documentary,” and commentaries from cast and crew (see below for details).
On Blu-ray, American Gods: Season 1 is selling for $26.79 (List: $39.99), while the DVD is priced $24.99 (List: $34.99).

Synopsis:
When Shadow Moon is released from prison, he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday and a storm begins to brew. Little does Shadow know, this storm will change the course of his entire life. Left adrift by the recent, tragic death of his wife, and suddenly hired as Mr. Wednesday’s bodyguard, Shadow finds himself in the center of a world that he struggles to understand. It’s a hidden world where magic is real, where the Old Gods fear both irrelevance and the growing power of the New Gods. Mr. Wednesday seeks to build a coalition of Old Gods to defend their existence in this new America, and reclaim some of the influence that they’ve lost. As Shadow travels across the country with Mr. Wednesday, he struggles to accept this new reality, and his place in it.
