‘The Fate of the Furious’ Blu-ray, 4k & Digital Release Date & Details

the-fate-of-the-furious-blu-ray-4k-2upUniversal’s The Fate of the Furious earned $216M domestically, not even covering the film’s outrageous budget of $250M (it was the seventh-most-expensive film ever made). But, in terms of overseas ticket sales became the 10th highest-grossing movie with earnings over $977M. Soon, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment will reap the rewards of home media through disc, digital and on-demand sales.

The Fate of the Furious will first release to Digital HD on June 27, followed by Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD, DVD, and On Demand on July 11, 2017. And, along with the theatrical release each disc version will come with a code to redeem The Fate of the Furious Extended Director’s Cut digitally.

Video on the Blu-ray discs is presented at 2.40:1 widescreen aspect ratio in either 1080p (Blu-ray) or 2160p (4k Blu-ray). The Ultra HD Blu-ray edition also features HDR (High Dynamic Range) compatible with both Dolby Vision and HDR10.

Audio on the Blu-ray discs is available in an immersive DTS:X soundtrack backed by DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 for systems that don’t support DTS:X.

The discs will include over an hour of never-before-seen bonus content such as the featurette “All About the Stunts,” extended fight scenes, and feature commentary with Director F. Gary Gray. Three more featurettes are exclusive to the Blu-ray Discs including “The Cuban Spirit,” “In the Family,” and “Car Culture.”
