The PBS Kids app for Android and Apple iOS devices has been updated with access to the PBS KIDS 24/7 live channel. And, the channel can be watched for free with no user registration or authentication required.
Kids using tablets and smartphones can just tap the “LIVE TV” button to view whatever is being broadcast on local PBS stations.
On the Android app optimized for Jelly Bean (4.1) and above, other improvements include a new Closed Caption toggle for Android TV, user interface design changes, and some bug fixes.
For Apple, the latest Version 3.0.2 of the app now lets users press the current show icon to start the next video, and included some bug fixes as well.
New shows are added every Friday to the PBS Kids app that can be streamed on demand, along with a “Weekly Pick” that’s geared towards education.
The PBS Kids app also provides local PBS station TV schedules, information about TV series, access to download related PBS Kids apps, and the ability to purchase shows from Apple iTunes, Google Play, or the PBS Kids Shop.
