It’s not often a large selection of digital movies is discounted by 50%, but today only Vudu is running such a promotion. The Walmart-owned digital video service is offering 30 of the year’s best films for half price. This includes either SD or HDX formats, but at 50% off why wouldn’t you just get the HDX version?
Some of 2016’s best films according to Vudu include Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Deadpool, Jason Bourne, Captain America: Civil War, and Star Trek Beyond among many other action and science fiction films.
2016 films for the kids include Finding Dory, Zootopia, The Jungle Book, The Secret Life of Pets, and Kung Fu Panda 3 among others.
And, in the comedy genre they’ve included Daddy’s Home, Central Intelligence, and Bad Moms.
The 50% off doesn’t apply to Vudu’s 4k UHD format, however. The company is still holding firm on selling 4k titles for the hefty sum of $29.99 (you can view an entire list of Vudu UHD titles here).

Vudu recently started streaming a selection of ad-supported movies, as well as downloads for rented titles.
