Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the first official trailer for sci-fi thriller Life starring Rebecca Ferguson, Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal. In the film, the crew aboard an international space station discovers a new life form on Mars, maybe to their demise.

The two-minute trailer begins with John. F. Kennedy’s famous speech at Rice University in 1962 about putting a human on the moon.

The other four cast members in Life (only 7 total are listed on IMDB) include Hiroyuki Sanada, Ariyon Bakare, Alexandre Nguyen, and Olga Dihovichnaya.

The film was directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House) with screenplay written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.

Life will release to theaters in the US on May 17, 2017.
