‘Warcraft’ Blu-ray, 4k Ultra HD & Digital Release Dates Revealed

Warcraft-Blu-ray-Combo-720pxUniversal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the release dates for Warcraft on Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD, Digital HD, and the emerging Ultra HD Blu-ray format for 4k TVs.

The film will first be available on Digital HD September 13th, followed by Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, Ultra HD Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand on September 27, 2016.

Both the Blu-ray and DVD editions will contain bonus features such as a gag reel, deleted scenes, production featurettes, and the “Origin Story.” But for those who want to delve deeper into the making of the film the Blu-ray editions offer several more featurettes including the multi-chapter “The World of Warcraft on Film.”

Warcraft on Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray is formatted in 2.40:1 widescreen resolution with English audio offered in Dolby Atmos. Lesser audio formats include Dolby Digital 2.0 and Dolby Digital 5.1 if Atmos isn’t supported. Total run time of the film (not including extras) is two hours and three minutes.

Pre-orders of Warcraft from Amazon are currently priced as follows: Blu-ray/DVD/Digital HD ($19.99); Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/Digital HD ($29.99); Ultra HD Blu-ray/Blu-ray/Digital HD ($29.99); and DVD ($16.99).

    • The World of MOCAP: An overview of the creation of the Orcs and other digital characters from inception all the way through to the final execution. Through extensive footage of the actors in their MOCAP suits and live in-camera renderings during production, the audience will see the incredible effort that went into creating the Orcs.
    • The World of Stunts: Though much of WARCRAFT was created through extensive VFX, the fight scenes and stunts had to be very real. In this featurette, fans can learn more about the extensive fight choreography and stunt work that fueled the film’s action from beginning to end.
  • Madame Tussauds’ Featurette: Featurette on the making of the WARCRAFT wax figures by Madame Tussauds.
  • WARCRAFT Teaser: An early teaser which premiered at San Diego Comic-Con in 2013.
