Following the lead of Best Buy’s sale on the Samsung 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player, Amazon has dropped their price for the UBD-K8500 to $317.99, beating Best Buy by just one penny. The item on Amazon is also eligible for free shipping, so whether or not your state collects taxes from Amazon will determine if Amazon’s final price is cheaper than Best Buy. (Amazon doesn’t charge taxes in 27 states.)
Best Buy also offers free shipping or store pickup for this item.
Costco is selling the Samsung Ultra HD Blu-ray player for $349 (after a manufacturer’s instant rebate). Frys Electronics has the player for $347 with store pickup available.
Philips is the only other company selling a 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray player in the US (more details on the Philips BDP7501 here). But Panasonic’s DMP-UB900 is expected to ship in September, albeit with a suggested retail price of $699.
