The sixth season of AMC’s The Walking Dead will be available to purchase on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on August 23rd, with Digital HD copies included in the Blu-ray edition only (pictured above). The digital copies will be redeemable through UltraViolet partners.
Single episodes (and full season) have already been available to purchase from streaming services such as Amazon Video and iTunes, but the Blu-ray and DVD releases will be the first time the season is made available in disc form.
The 5-Disc set from Anchor Bay Entertainment contains all sixteen episodes of the hit drama created by Frank Darabont, formatted in high-quality video at 1080p (Full HD) resolution and underscored by a lossless English Dolby TrueHD 7.1 soundtrack.
We don’t have the details on bonus material yet (will post when we do), but previous seasons of TWD on Blu-ray have included deleted scenes, audio commentary, and several production featurettes. We’re hoping S6 on BD will also deliver with plenty of extras.
The Walking Dead: The Complete Sixth Season carries an MSRP of $79.99, but Amazon has it to pre-order for $49.99. The DVD edition has a list price of $69.99, and can be pre-ordered for $39.99. (Scroll down for current prices.)
