If you were watching the big game last weekend you may have seen LG’s first Super Bowl commercial that featured their new 65″ flagship Signature OLED TV. LG followed up their commercial for the Signature OLED TV with pre-order pricing and retail partners that will begin receiving orders next month.
Offered at $7,999, the OLED65G6P can be pre-ordered at Abt, Best Buy, Bjorns, Brandsmart, Fry’s, Nebraska Furniture Mart, P.C. Richard & Son, Value Electronics and Video & Audio Center.
Certified “ULTRA HD PREMIUM” by the UHD Alliance, the 65-inch class (64.5 diagonal) OLED TV supports 4k and High Dynamic Range content with support for HDR10 and DolbyVision technology. Additional features include Cinematic Color, True Color Accuracy, ULTRA Luminance, Pixel Dimming, and 4k upscaling.
In terms of design, the OLED65G6P measures about one-tenth of an inch, and features a translucent glass back and forward-facing harman/kardon-designed 4.2 channel sound bar speaker system with 60W output.
On the software side, the OLED includes LG’s webOS 3.0 Smart TV platform — designed for ease in switching between sources, and integrates Natural Voice Recognition for remote-free control of the TV.
“As we kick off 2016, our ad during the big game couldn’t have been a better time and platform to introduce the flagship model in our 2016 OLED TV lineup,” said David VanderWaal, vice president of marketing, LG Electronics USA.
