Paramount Pictures has released the first official trailer for Star Trek Beyond from director Justin Lin. The movie is a follow up to Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) and stars Chris Pine as Kirk, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Simon Pegg as Scotty, and Zachary Quinto as Spock among other returning cast members.
The trailer is a one minute, thirty second video that’s available to view in up to 1080p resolution on YouTube, underscored by the Beastie Boys’ hit song “Sabotage.” We also get a look at new characters (who remain unnamed) played by Sofia Boutella and Idris Elba.
Star Trek Beyond is slated for release to theaters in the U.S., including RealD 3D and IMAX 3D cinemas, on July 22, 2016.
The film was produced by Bad Robot, Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions.
