Sony has announced a deal that will bring Disney and ESPN channels to the PlayStation Vue platform, including ESPN, Disney Channel, ABC Family, and ABC-owned local stations. Local ABC affiliate stations will also be able to opt-in to the service to offer live TV broadcasts.
With the deal, PlayStation Vue becomes the first internet-based streaming TV service to offer Disney network channels that will include Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and Disney XD.
Disney and ESPN content will be available both live and on-demand, with an “extensive library” of titles to choose from. And, multiple users on one account will be available to stream simultaneously from the networks.
PlayStation Vue launched in March, 2015 and offers month-to-month streaming service starting at $49.99 per month. New customers must be members of the PlayStation Network to subscribe.
