Dell announced they’ll soon be launching a professional, business class 13.3″ Google Chromebook starting at $399. The Chromebook 13 can be configured with Intel Celeron, Core i3 or i5 processors, and up to 8GB system RAM for demanding workloads.
A 720p HD video webcam, high-def IPS display (with Corning Gorilla Glass), and dual array microphones are designed for use with Google Hangouts.
In addition, the Dell Chromebook 13 is built to be secure with Dell unique IP from KACE, SonicWALL (VPN) and Wyse (when used with a Dell Secure Mobile Access appliance or next-generation firewall).
Google’s cloud-based management console is also utilized by the Chromebook 13 to simplify deployment, and centrally manage, update and track systems.
Dell rates battery life of the Chromebook 13 to last up to 12 hours (with LCD panel brightness set to 37%, keyboard backlight set to 10%, and wireless internet on).
The Dell Chromebook 13 will be available in the U.S. and Canada starting September 17th, 2015.
