Time Warner Cable’s improved internet service branded TWC Maxx is now available to customers in the greater San Antonio area. The faster internet speeds, up to six times greater, come at no extra charge to TWC residential customers. However, some customers may need to upgrade their modem to get the improved internet service.
The first phase of the TWC Maxx service is now available in San Antonio, as well as the communities of Alamo Heights, Boerne, Brooks City Base, Bulverde, Canyon Lake, China Grove, Cibolo, Converse, Elmendorf, Fair Oaks Ranch, Fort Sam Houston, Garden Ridge, Grey Forest, Helotes, Kelly AFB, Kirby, Lackland AFB, Leon Valley, Live Oak, Marion, New Braunfels, Randolph AFB, San Antonio, Schertz, Seguin, Selma, Shavano Park, Somerset, Universal City, Von Ormy and Windcrest.
With TWC Maxx, customers who get the Standard tier receive up to 50 Mbps (formerly up to 15 Mbps); customers with Extreme can get up to 200 Mbps (formerly up to 30 Mbps); and, customers who subscribe to Ultimate will receive up to 300 Mbps (previously 100 Mbps).
Time Warner Cable business customers can also get faster internet plans, with a choice of 100×10, 200×20 and 300×20 service.
The company’s TWC Maxx service will also include a soon-to-launch all-digital TV lineup with 1TB Enhanced DVR that will allow customers to simultaneously record up to six different programs and up to 150 hours of high-definition (HD) programming.
Time Warner Cable recently launched TWC Maxx in twelve initial markets, including Greensboro and Wilmington, NC.
Additional markets where TWC Maxx will be offered by year’s end include Kansas City, Dallas, San Diego, Hawaii and Charlotte and Raleigh, NC.
