Comcast has announced they will be live streaming the Copa America and Gold Cup international soccer tournaments to Xfinity TV customers with the Xfinity TV Go app for mobile devices. 26 matches of both tournaments will be streamed, in both English and Spanish language. In addition, the matches will be available the day after airing On Demand (but who wants to watch recorded soccer anyway?)
Both events will be accessible through the Xfinity TV Go app for Android and iOS devices, however Comcast says parts of the Gold Cup may be delivered, albeit seamlessly, through Univision’s TVE properties or FOX Sports Go.
In addition to Copa America and the Gold Cup, Comcast also announced full coverage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 and the FIFA Under-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015.
“Interest in soccer in the U.S. is at an all-time high and fans, many of them Latino, want to catch every minute of every game whether they are at home or on the go,” said Javier Garcia, Vice President, Multicultural Services, Comcast Cable.
The 2015 Copa America tournament starts today, June 11th and ends July 4th. The 2015 Gold Cup starts on July 7th and ends on July 26th, with coverage on Univision Network and UDN (Univision Deportes Network).
