Sharp just released a mid-2015 lineup of new Ultra HD TVs from their AQUOS brand. The UB30 line includes three 4k TVs that are on the smaller side, with 43-inch, 50-inch, and 55-inch sizes priced at $799, $999, and $1299, respectively. (See better pricing below.)
The three models feature an effective Aquomotion 120Hz refresh rate (60Hz native), Smart TV integration, HDMI 2.0 connectivity for Ultra HD/4k content, and compatibility with HDCP 2.2 copy protection. The UB30 series support 4k formats in HEVC/H.265, as well as Google’s VP9 open coding format.
Sharp’s new Ultra HD TVs also include Smart Central 3.0 software so one interface can control both cable/satellite TV and streaming with one remote control or through apps for mobile devices.
