Roku adds Twitch channel

Twitch_Logo_PurpleRoku has added Twitch to their extensive lineup of channels, offering live streaming of video game play similar to the website twitch.tv.

The channel is available for all current-generation Roku players in the U.S., Canada, U.K., and Ireland. However, if you’ve got a Roku TV model the channel is only supported in the U.S. and Canada.

The Twitch channel on Roku lets you watch live broadcasts, browse by live channels or games, and view all your favorite broadcasters on the home screen. You can add the free channel simply by doing a search for “twitch” in the Roku Channel Store, or find it under popular or new channels.

Twitch is owned by Amazon, who purchased the company last year for $970 million.
