Dish announced renewal of The Weather Channel in a multi-year contract that includes live programming as well as access to The Weather Channel’s interactive app on the Hopper Whole-Home HD DVR and other supporting set-top boxes.
In addition to carriage on Dish, the agreement also allows the channel to launch The Weather Channel on Sling TV, Dish’s new over-the-top (OTT) streaming service. Sling TV customers will also be able to access video-on-demand content through the service.

“DISH and The Weather Channel have been partners for two decades and we are pleased to continue and expand that relationship to Sling TV,” said Warren Schlichting, DISH senior vice president of programming.
