Like other retailers trying to squeeze every last bit of Black Friday hysteria, Walmart has launched a sale that brings holiday discounts early for online shoppers. The company is selling a 50-inch LED HDTV for $349, 7-inch tablets starting at $59.99, an Xbox One bundle for $349, and laptop bundles starting at $288.
Let’s take a closer look at exactly what brands and models Walmart is using for these teaser prices. The 50-inch set offered for $349 is a Sceptre X505BV-FMQR 1080p/60Hz LED HDTV. The display only refreshes at 60Hz, and doesn’t feature Smart technology, but at $349 it’s a big picture for a low price.
The tablet selling for $59.99 is a Pioneer 8GB Dual Core model that carries an MSRP of $99.99. There are two products listed under “Pioneer 8GB Dual Core” so be sure to choose the tablet that comes with keyboard/case and slightly faster 1.6GHz Cortex A9 processor. Both tablets are designed with a 7-inch 1024 x 600 touchscreen and operate on Google Android 4.2 OS. [Update: The 1.6GHz model is currently out of stock but the 1.5GHz model is still available.]
The $288 laptops are offered in several different “holiday” bundles starting at $288. Walmart claims the bundles save you up to $110 (28%) off the list price of the items. For example, you can customize the bundle with a HP, Acer, Samsung, Asus, Toshiba, or Dell laptop, combined with a carrying case, USB Flash Drive and color inkjet printer. When customizing the order, however, you’ll want to choose the Toshiba 15.6″ Satellite laptop as a starting point, or a refurbished HP 14″ Sparkling TouchSmart laptop (that adds $1 to the bundle), otherwise you’ll be going over the $288 advertised price.
The Xbox One bundle for $349 is the Assassins Creed Unity Bundle that saves you $50 off the list price of $399. The Call of Duty Advanced Warfare Limited Edition Console Bundle is selling for $449.
