Have you got a Sony 4k TV but not much to watch on it? Sony’s 1st generation 4k media player hit the market last year with an MSRP of $699, but that price has been slashed by over 50% — at least at one retailer — following the release the 2nd generation FMP-X10 just a few weeks ago. You can now get the Sony FMP-X1 4K ‘Ultra HD’ Media Player for just $347.72 at Amazon. (To see the discounted price you’ll need to “Add to Cart” first.) The 2TB FMP-X1 comes pre-loaded with over 50 free videos in 4K resolution, and a free download the sci-fi film Elysium starring Matt Damon and Jodi Foster. The 4k player also gives you access to rent and purchase movies and TV shows from Sony’s Video Unlimited 4K service. Rentals start at $7.99, and purchases $29.99. The FMP-X1 only works with compatible Sony 4k TVs, so be sure to check your model number before buying. Keep in mind this price could change at any time depending on demand.
