At the same time DirecTV is offering a free trial of MLB Extra Innings, customers can get even more sports programming on NBC’s Universal Sports Network. From July 22 through July 31, the network is available for viewing at no charge on channel 625. USN broadcasts a variety of Olympics-related team and individual sports such as triathlons, figure skating, volleyball, cycling, snowboarding and rugby.

Current sporting events running on Universal Sports Network include the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships, the 2014 LA Course by Tour De France, the 2014 UCI BMX World Championships, and the 2014 ASICS World Series of Beach Volleyball.

Universal Sports Network is part of the DIRECTV SPORTS PACK that includes channels such as ESPN Classic, beIN SPORT, and Outdoor Channel, as well as over 30 regional sports networks such as Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, Madison Square Garden, and FS West.

Unfortunately, the channel is currently only in standard definition. Contact DIRECTV and ask them for Ultimate Sports in HD!
