Walt Disney Animation and Marvel Entertainment have revealed the first trailer for the upcoming animated film Big Hero 6. The film is based upon the Marvel comic of the same name, the team making their first comic book appearance in Issue No. 1 of Sunfire and Big Hero 6 (September, 1998). The characters in Big Hero 6 consist of Silver Samurai, Sunfire, GoGo Tomago, Honey Lemon, Baymax, Ebon Samurai, Sunpyre, Wasabi-No-Ginger, Fred “Fredzilla,” and the young robotics engineer who is the focus of the trailer.
The first trailer for Big Hero 6 is unexpectedly devoid of voice acting. With the exception of the word “yes” at the beginning of the trailer and few grunts along the way, there is no dialogue in the trailer at all. There is, however, a soundtrack backing the action during the 1-minute, 30-second video.
Big Hero 6 is slated for theatrical release November 7, 2014. The film was produced by Marvel Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Walt Disney Pictures. (Note: The trailer shown below is for the UK release in January, 2015.)
“From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Big Hero 6,” an action comedy adventure about brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who finds himself in the grips of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy the fast-paced, high-tech city of San Fransokyo. With the help of his closest companion—a robot named Baymax—Hiro joins forces with a reluctant team of first-time crime fighters on a mission to save their city. Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, the film features comic-book style action and all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios.”
