Hulu announced they will soon be streaming select TV shows on Hulu Plus free on mobile devices, as well as launching the next generation of the Hulu Plus app for iPhones. The select television episodes that will be available on mobile devices will be ad-supported, but this will be the first time the free portion of Hulu Plus will be available in a format other than on a desktop web browser.
While non-subscribers will get to watch whatever episodes Hulu picks, access to full and past seasons will require a Hulu Plus account, currently available for $7.99 per month.
Hulu also announced they have surpassed 6 million Hulu Plus subscribers, as well as slating another season of “Deadbeat” and premiere dates for the second seasons of “The Awesomes,” “Quick Draw” and “East Los High.”
Last week, Hulu launched remote control options for mobile devices used in conjunction with PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One gaming consoles.
Hulu says the Hulu Plus serviced is available on more than 400 million internet-connected devices in the US including Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV, and the latest edition to streaming media players — Fire TV.
