It’s Tuesday again and that day of the week when new Blu-ray Disc and DVDs arrive in stores. Highlights this week include a couple Oscar-nominated films, and an Amazon exclusive collection of Harry Potter films.
Nominated for Best Picture as well as nine other categories, Gravity is available in both 2D and 3D editions, both of which include a DVD copy and Digital HD copy via UltraViolet. Also nominated for Best Picture, Nebraska starring Bruce Dern is available in a 2-Disc Blu-ray edition that comes with DVD and Digital HD copy.
Not nominated, but a good adventure film nonetheless, Thor: The Dark World is out on Blu-ray this week, available in 2D or 3D editions with DVD and Digital HD copy. And, Criterion Collection has released the French film Blue Is the Warmest Color (La Vie d’Adèle) to high-definition Blu-ray Disc.
Finally, Amazon has released the Amazon-Exclusive 31-Disc set titled Harry Potter Hogwarts Collection. The giant boxed set from Warner Home Video contains all eight Harry Potter films along with a Blu-ray bonus disc with over 3 hours of extra features. The films also come on DVD and Digital Copy via UltraViolet, and special features total over 45 hours. There’s also the eight part “Creating the World of Harry Potter” documentary series on Blu-ray.
