For the premiere week of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, NBC Entertainment Digital has launched an app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices that lets users see upcoming guests, send tweets to guests using hashtags, and watch a featured video clip of the day. The app also lets users submit their own videos to a video challenge, and have a chance to have their own contributed content featured on-air.
In addition, Jimmy and co. have created four custom themed video games in 8-bit style titled “Jimmy Quest,” “Jimmy Ski” “Jimmy Match” and “Puppy Catch.” NBC promises more games will be added in the future.
For web browsers and mobile devices alike, NBC relaunched The Tonight Show website to be responsive to adapt to most screens. The site features commercial-supported full episodes the day after the air, show segments, video clips, social interaction, media, games, and other show content.
“We wanted to provide a way to connect [Jimmy Fallon] fans to the new show across all their devices,’” said Robert Hayes, Executive Vice President, Digital Media, NBC Entertainment.
The 28.2MB app for Apple iOS devices was updated on Feb. 12, while the 15MB Android version was updated on Feb. 19, 2014.
