Samsung reveals Galaxy Tab 3 Lite 7″ tablet

Today, Samsung revealed the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite tablet with 7-inch (1024 X 600) display. The tablet is essentially a lighter version of the Tab 3, with the Wi-Fi version weighing just 310 grams. The Galaxy Tab 3 Lite features a 1.2GHz Dual Core processor, 1GB memory, 8 GB flash memory, and Micro SD memory slot expandable to 32GB – all equivalent specs to the Tab 3 released last summer.

But one of the differences can be found in the battery life. The tablet’s predecessor housed a 4,000mAh battery that was rated at seven hours of video playback. Samsung boasts the Tab 3 Lite will provide eight hours of video playback utilizing a 3,600mAh battery.

Speaking of video, the Tab 3 Lite supports several video formats including MPEG4, H.263, H.264, VP8, VC-1, WMV7/8, Sorenson, Spark, and MP43.

Smile Shot, Shoot &, and Panorama Shot are included photographic options of the Tab 3 Lite, that includes a 2-megapixel rear camera. For connectivity, the tablet supports Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, 3G, and 2G.

The Tab 3 Lite runs on Jellybean, Android 4.2, and includes the Google Mobile Services such as Chrome, Search, Gmail, Google+, Maps, Play Movies, Play Music, and Voice Search.

We haven’t seen a release date announced. However, we know the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite will ship globally in both black and white finishes.
