Sony is displaying their new lineup of XBR 4k Ultra HD TVs at CES 2014 this week, to add to their already existing top-of-the-line series. The XBR model TVs slated to ship in 2014 include the 850B, 900B and 950B classifications, each with a selection of screen sizes ranging from 49 to 85 inches.
The 850B series will be manufactured in four different sizes that include 49-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 70-inch classes. The models boast brilliant colors with TRILUMINOS display technology, the latest HDMI 2.0 specs to support 4k content, and built-in Wi-Fi.
The 900B series, coming in 55-inch, 65-inch, and 79-inch screen sizes, up the design quality and add front-facing, left and right speakers. Like the 800B series, the display also features TRILUMINOS display technology, the latest HDMI support, and built-in Wi-Fi. The display also ups the picture quality with X-tended Dynamic Range for up to 2x brightness range when compared to conventional LED display TVs. And, Motionflow XR 960 provides more lifelike movement.
Sony’s 950B series, what they call “the reference standard in 4k Ultra HD,” will ship in both 65-inch and 85-inch classes. Like the 850B and 900B series, the models feature TRILUMINOS display, the latest HDMI support, and built-in Wi-Fi. The brightness is rated at 3x the range of conventional LED TV displays with the use of X-tended Dynamic Range PRO technology. And, motion clarity is also enhanced with the use of Motionflow XR 960.
All the sets feature the 4K X-Reality PRO picture engine that optimizes images from any source, support for 4k 60p and the HEVC codec for future 4k content, screen mirroring via NFC OneTouch Mirroring, MHL 3.0-enabled for mirroring second screens, and are 3D capable (2 pairs of 3D glasses are included). All three series also feature ClearAudio+ Digital Sound Processing (DSP) with S-Force Front Surround with optional subwoofer.
