It’s been a long time coming but YouTube is finally available on the Roku 3 streaming player. Roku posted the news on the Roku Blog, announcing channel availability in the U.S. Canada, U.K. and the Republic of Ireland. The company also says they are working on getting a YouTube channel for all of their Roku players sometime next year. The Roku app for iOS and Android also gives you the ability to use a smartphone or tablet to send videos to a supporting television set via the “Send to TV” button. To take advantage of this feature, your device needs to be connected to the same WiFi network as your Roku. The YouTube channel is available to install for free from the Roku Channel Store.
Roku recently updated their apps for Android and iOS, which added support for additional Android devices, fixed some bugs, and updated the categories and contents of the Channel Store to match the Channel Store.
