PBS will be adding Downton Abbey Season 2 to their Roku channel, giving viewers access to a new episode of the season every Monday through the month of November. The episodes will be available for a total of seven days on Roku, and can be found by searching for the Masterpiece series on the Roku channel.
Other programming available on PBS’s Roku channel include League of Denial (Frontline), an investigation into brain injuries connected with playing in the NFL; Henry V (Great Performances), a documentary series about Henry V and England’s battle at Agincourt; Brooklyn Castle (POV), about a Brooklyn public school that holds the record for national Chess championships; and Nova’s Megastorm Aftermath, an investigation of 2012’s Hurricane Sandy.
The programming is not available indefinitely, however. Henry V will be available through Nov. 10, Brooklyn Castle through Nov. 6, and Megastorm Aftermath through Oct. 23. Frontline’s League of Denial does not appear to have an expiration date.
To find the programming on Roku search for the series rather than the individual program. For example, search for the keyword “masterpiece” rather than “downton abbey.” You can also just scroll though the thumbnails, as the PBS search tool doesn’t work as well as you would hope.
